The best and worst fruits and veggies to feed your dog or cat.
We have had many of our customers ask us if certain human foods are okay to feed their dog or cat. We did some research, and here are the best and worst fruits and vegetables to feed your pets:
The BEST and healthiest options for your dog:
Carrots
Green Beans
Broccoli
Sweet Potato (cooked)
Squash
Peas
Bananas
The WORST options, do NOT give these to your dog:
Onions and garlic are TOXIC even when cooked.
Grapes and raisins can cause kidney damage.
Raw potatoes
Fruit seeds, like an apple with seeds or watermelon seeds.
Rhubarb leaves (the stems are okay)
*Before we get to the kitties, please note that cats are carnivores and have evolved on a diet without fruits and veggies. Cats also cannot taste sweetness, but may still enjoy the texture from sweet foods.

Steamed asparagus
Steamed broccoli
Steamed green beans
The WORST options for cats:
Onions and garlic
Grapes or raisins
UNCOOKED veggies- they can pose a choking hazard and are difficult for cats to digest.
